ARTIST
STATEMENT
"For me, painting is a deeply engaging experience. I am fascinated by living things: seed pods, plants, animals, human beings. The starting point is to study my subject and see what draws and inspires me. I enter the process there and enjoy it, responding to the colors, textures, shapes, and design. I love brilliant color, and am intrigued by the surprises that emerge as I add new layers.
Acrylics are my favored medium because they allow for constant change, experimentation, and discovery. It's a great metaphor for life."
