"To be an artist is an awesome balancing act. To speak to your need of creating and competing, purpose and wastefulness, inspiration and failure, acceptance and rejection, and the incredible kinship of your peers, of being a mother, grandmother, friend, teacher, and always, always searching for the artist within.
