ARTIST
STATEMENT
“I have always been drawn to the splendor of nature. Whether painting locally or on distant travels, I find a region's scenic beauty a constant source of inspiration and imagery as I seek to capture its essence of color and light specific to the particular surroundings and season. As an artist, my hope is to visually communicate, and thus share, a special moment in time with my viewer."
As a watercolorist, Julie paints with impressionistic realism responding passionately to the medium’s characteristic freedom and spontaneity. A native of the Pacific Northwest, she divides her time between Bellevue and Stretch Island, WA. Always with a ready sketchbook, she finds her love of watercolor the perfect companion to her love of travel. Julie’s work has been selected for corporate cards, calendars and commissions. She is included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad.
