Member Biography

ARTIST STATEMENT

"I view my work much as I view life. I try to find beauty in everything and to paint it truthfully. I have rarely made a political or philosophical statement with my art; rather, I wish to convey the feelings we have when we view something familiar and pleasant.

I believe that many of the objects we surround ourselves with are imbued with our feelings and I often use objects of my own in still life paintings because they give memory of good times and I think that feeling is conveyed in my work.

I am not a complicated person, and so, too, my art is straightforward and hopefully joyful."
