ARTIST STATEMENT

I paint intuitively, calling on muse and spirit to guide my hand and brush. I am always mindful of the organic & textural aspects of art. The figure has also been a recurring theme this past year. I have been following my golfing family around the course gathering subject matter with pen and ink, watercolor, and camera. I do not golf but needed to be involved in their lives and be able to talk the lingo with them. A series of golfing paintings is evolving. Right now they are acrylics. They are beginning to grow in size and I am experimenting with other media and canvas.

I feel a need for bright and cheerful this year and the golfers fit the bill. I am still doing collage and usually have several pieces going at one time.
