Member Biography

ARTIST STATEMENT

"Something happens when a certain kind of light falls on an object, a landscape or a figure. And what happens is such a pleasure that I have to paint it! I particularly enjoy water, faces, dramatic lighting."

Born and raised on Puget Sound, Anni Leedy has been a lifelong artist. While at Stanford University, she studied in Florence, Italy, and after graduation attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco.

She worked as a graphic designer, illustrator and art director before turning her attention fulltime to her family and creative life.

Her paintings have been shown in solo gallery shows, as well as national juried exhibitions, among them Oil Painters of America, Pastel Society of America, the CM Russell Auction, Northwest Watercolor Society and Northwest Pastel Society. She has earned signature status in PSA, NPS, NWWS.
