ARTIST STATEMENT
"As a child in the Ukraine I spent hours and hours drawing and painting on large rolls of paper spread across the floor. At age fourteen I entered Art School focusing primarily on sculpture. Later I enrolled at Western Ukraine University completing a degree in engineering.
Upon immigrating to the United States I was able to refocus my life and rekindle my love for painting. I am passionate about composition, light, and color. The complexities of reflection, transparency, color harmonies and dramatic contrasts in value appeal to me. I look for subject matter that affords me the opportunity to create thought provoking compositions within the realm of realism.
In the last five years I have been studying in Academy of Art in San. Francisco. I was qualified as a signature member of National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society. My works were accepted in some of the best competitions in the country and have won numerous awards. They have been presented in galleries in California, Missouri, Texas, and Washington. I also have been teaching art classes in College and private workshops. I will soon receive a master's degree in art."
