ARTIST STATEMENT"Sue's use of color is similar to many folk artists, and of principal interest is her use of "patterning" where colors and shapes are intermingled and overlapped. This draws the viewer into the painting in order to see what is not immediately visible. Her latest work uses a batik process on watercolor, rice, and mulberry paper."
