Member Biography

ARTIST STATEMENT

"I can't remember a time when I wasn't drawing or painting. Ideas come from within me and are responses to the prose, poetry, and mental visions that touch me every day. Spraying splattering, masking, scraping, white on white paper, I transfer these subconscious emotions to the support. Magic happens when I pour colors and blot values from this work in progress. Images cry to be released. When this surface of marks and poured colors are alive, I work on the drawing, developing the design. I release the captives using various mediums to make my statement. Some paintings are immediate and stand alone some take many tries and become a series. It is my way of interpreting life as it appears to me."
