ARTIST STATEMENT
"Water media allows me to express the imagery I see and feel in nature. My objective is to put on canvas or paper what touches me, reaching inside myself to recreate the beauty in nature. I translate, abstract and add my inner feelings. I have eliminated any attempts at literal representation. Experimentation with all water media and discovering the interaction is an important focus. Most recently, acrylic paints combined with collage have fascinated me. The results are interesting and have a quality of three-dimensionality that I find very pleasing. New series done in this manner are titled "Abstractions from Nature," "Earth Poems" and "Window Series." ‘Making art is feeling and seeing what’s around you’."
Born and educated in Germany, I began painting with watercolors in High school, adopting other media in later years. My informal art education includes courses and workshops at the Boston Museum of Fine Art School, the DeCordova Museum School in Lincoln (MA), and Sir George Williams University in Montreal, Canada. In addition I have attended national and international workshops and classes in various media.
